Since PCLOS and TinyMe are rolling releases, wireless network support is now much better. For my often troublesome notebookâs Atheros-based WPA-secure network, it took under one minute after I (1) removed all the ndiswrapper stuff (2) installed dkms-madwifi (3) deleted all wireless network interfaces via PCC and installed a new one using the default setup (from dkms-madwifi).

About the time I started this blog, I wrote a review for Linux.com. It may be a little late to mention that now, but I received a comment that’s worth posting.
First, the review was on TinyMe, a fairly light Linux distro. It’s based on PCLinuxOS. I stumbled across a mention of TinyMe by accident on some forum, and–being the distro hopper I am–thought it would be worth trying. It was, and it resulted in the review.

One comment: someone (in the comments) mentioned that they laughed at the innuendo in the title. Oops. No innuendo was intended–the title came about when I was finishing the first draft. It was late, and I was worn down, but a clever title occurred to me. I was thinking more of “big things in small boxes.” Now that I’m more alert, I can see the other possible intepretation. Oh, well.
Better Late Than Never, I guess
I started this blog with the best of intentions to regularly update. So far, though I haven’t done such a good job. It’s better to post late, than never I guess.
Welcome To This Site
I thought it was probably about time that I join the modern world, and get a blog. Here it is. Right now, as of October 12, 2008, it’s still in the planning and building phase. Too much to do, too little time to do it!
